5-Drawer Chest Comment

For generations, a 5-drawer chest has been a staple of most bedrooms. Most are about 3' wide and 4-1/2' tall. A 5-drawer chest is usually a good fit for most bedroom spaces, while its 5 drawers offer ample storage space. On top, you can put framed photos, collectibles, or even a TV.

The top drawer of our 5-Drawer Chest is lined with aromatic cedar; a great feature when storing clothing or linens. Standard with all our pieces, the 5-Drawer Chest comes with our "super glide system" and our famous Heirloom Warranty.

Furniture Traditions' Heirloom Quality

Our 5-Drawer Chest is the perfect size to demonstrate the quality and durability that goes in to every Furniture Traditions' piece. When you're out shopping for bedroom furniture, see if other furniture passes the Furniture Traditions test:

1) Move the S-Drawer Chest away from the wall, and bang on the back. Our furniture is constructed with solid 3/8" plywood backs. Most of our competitors (especially the imports) pinch pennies by just using a thin, flimsy paneling to cover the back of their pieces. But as we all know, Furniture with 4 strong sides lasts a lot longer than those with only 3.

2) Lift up on our 5-Drawer Chest, from one of the corners. As the bottom corner is lifted away from the floor, notice how sturdy the furniture is. Inferior furniture will "wobble" or "rack" when you pick it up, like it's about to fall apart! That's because it's cheap to just use a nail gun or a glue gun to assemble furniture. Big profits for those companies that do this, but bad for you when you have to replace a broken piece.

When you invest with Furniture Traditions, your furniture will be counter-bored and screwed together, with solid 3/8" plywood backs. This creates our fantastic "no-flex" construction.

3) As you lift up the 5-Drawer Chest by one corner, pull open a drawer, not from pulling on it from the middle of its front, but from pulling on the side of drawer. On mediocre furniture, if you can even get the drawers to open, this takes a lot of effort. Not so with Furniture Traditions.

With our Super Glide System, we combine steel ball-bearing guides (customized just for us with a lifetime warranty), sturdy nine-ply Baltic Birch drawer sides, and a high density plastic edge banding to the bottom of the drawer sides, to make your drawers glide like magic.

4) Is the furniture made in the United States? If it's not, getting replacement parts or service for your purchase can be extremely difficult. As our furniture is proudly Made in America, maybe we're just a little prejudiced when we say, "Try getting a handle from China!". With Furniture Traditions, help is just a phone call away.

5) Check out the warranty! A true reflection on any manufacturer is their warranty. Many companies have so much fine print, you can't even figure out the warranty! Ours is only one sentence long: Furniture Traditions' Heirloom Warranty. As long as you own it, as long as we are in business, we will fix it if there is a manufacturing defect.
